YUSUF ABUGIDEIRI, CFP®

PARTNER • SENIOR FINANCIAL PLANNER

Yusuf Abugideiri, CFP® holds an M.A. in Economics from George Mason University and a B.S. in Finance from Virginia Tech’s Pamplin College of Business.

Yusuf is a member of the Financial Planning Association® (FPA®). He has served on the Financial Planning Day and Career Day committees through FPA’s National Capital Area chapter and has also served on the chapter’s board as the Director of PR, Media Relations and Communications. Yusuf is a member of FPA’s NexGen community and is a graduate of FPA’s Residency Program.

Yusuf is a member of the CFP Board’s Workforce Development Advisory Group. The group advises CFP Board regarding initiatives related to attracting the next generation of financial planners to the profession, continuing to strengthen the pipeline of talent into the profession, and developing a career path for practitioners. In 2019, the group contributed to the publication of Financial Planning Career Paths: Building More Sustainable and Successful Businesses. The guide aims to “help firms in the financial planning profession with financial planner recruitment, onboarding, training, career development and retention” and lays out a career ladder for financial planners.

Yusuf has also served as co-chair of the Recent Alumni Board of the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech; he visits campus frequently to speak in financial planning classes and to give back to the university through various programs.

In 2016, Yusuf was named to InvestmentNews’ 40 Under 40 list, which recognizes members of the financial advisory industry who are under 40 years of age and have changed the industry for the better. He was also named to WealthManagement’s list of the top CFP®-holders under age 36.

In his free time, Yusuf enjoys watching sports and movies, working out, and spending time with his friends and family.

Client Focus: As a Senior Financial Planner, Yusuf approaches his relationships with Clients with the mindset of serving as their anchor; he feels that his role is to design a financial plan that serves as the foundation through which they can realize the limitless vision for their life.

Current Update: Yusuf can finally catch his breath after a summer that included four trips to San Francisco and stops in Colorado, New York and North Carolina along the way. Aside from a quick trip to Atlanta over Labor Day weekend to visit his brother, Yusuf, Maegan and Noah aren’t going anywhere for a while and that’s fine with them – autumn is their favorite season and there’s a lot of football to look forward to! While they share a love for Hokie football at the college level, they root for different NFL teams; Yusuf pulls for the Cowboys, while Maegan is a Steelers fan (Noah’s allegiance remains up in the air for now…). Yusuf’s only remaining professional trips for the year are to attend FPA’s Annual Conference and Schwab’s IMPACT conference.
